A Hillside Home Overlooking Portree Harbour

Located on a sloping wooded hillside overlooking the estuary towards Portree harbour, this stylish new build effortlessly blends into its surroundings being constructed in a mix of blackened timber and natural stone. Large sections of glazing flood light into the space and offer dramatic views across the water.

We worked with Room Studio to help create a modern, calming space with light timbers and natural fabrics. The Y&N team were tasked with construction design, fabrication and installation of all fitted joinery items to include the kitchen, wall cladding, cloak cupboard, headboards and bathroom items.

The kitchen presents itself as a minimal, open-plan cooking area with additional storage in the larder and utility, which are concealed behind jib doors. The fronts and wall cladding are fabricated from white tinted Ash and v grooves added in areas to mimic traditional tongue and groove detailing.
